Masthead: The mashead is the title of the magazine and informs the reader of the brand. Most the time, the masthead isin the top left-hand corner as the eyes read left t right.
Main image: The main image is the largest image on the cover and relates to the main story within the magazine. It often conveys to the brand's indentity as all images will remain vaguely similar.
Coverlines: Coverlines are the main headings on the cover, usally relating to the main story within the magazine. It is used to catch the reader's attention and lure the in.
Subheadings: The subheadings give more information about the main story hinted at on the coverline and therefore is used to tease the reader into it.
Sub-coverlines: The sub-coverlines are smaler coverlines that tell the reader about other stories within the magazine.
Essential information: This is the information sch as pricing, dae, website, phone number and the barcode. Usally in the smallest font size on the cover.
Gifts: Used as a way to get people to buy the magazine, they promise the reader something along the lines of a poster, a CD, etc.
